Plus, you can buy veteran-discounted tickets to Disney and nearby local attractions (i.e., Universal Studios Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando) from Shades of Green.

Best Western

Best Western hotels are all over the world (in more than one hundred countries, to be precise), and it has 18 well-known brands to its name. And the chances of you having seen one on any road trip around the USA are remarkably high.

To access these discounts, choose “Government/Military” from the “Rates” dropdown menu during your search. Remember that the site does not specify the discount amount, and the veteran rate is sometimes lower than standard prices.

Choice Hotels

Choice Hotels may not be as famous as Marriott or Hilton, but the brand is recognized nationwide.

Like Best Western, you need to click “Military/Veteran (Leisure)” from the “Special Rates” dropdown menu when searching for your preferred stay. Although, discounts for veterans are only sometimes available.

If you are a VetRewards participant, you can get a 15% discount on these hotels. However, the website needs to clarify whether this is an extra 15% saving or instead of Choice Hotels’ discounts.

Hilton

Hilton is easily one of the world’s largest hotel chains, boasting buildings spanning six continents.

You can get desirable disabled veteran discounts on all their hotels. However, your qualification will depend on the specific rate you book. Unfortunately, the website needs to state the savings percentage. Although, you will see a special rate when searching for specific hotels.

To ensure you are viewing the discounted prices, click “Government Rates” from the “Special Rates” dropdown panel. Some hotels will not have the same discounts, so if you want to save the most money, keep that in mind.

Extended Stay America

Extended Stay America has one of the most robust military discount programs going. They cater to people looking for long-term stays within the country rather than short-term vacations.

However, most of those discounts are for active military members only. So, to get money off Extended Stay America hotels as a disabled veteran, you need to become a VetRewards member.

With this membership, you get the following discounts:

30% off stays of one to seven nights
40% off stays of seven to 29 nights
50% off stays of 30 to 50 nights

Hyatt

Hyatt boasts over 1,000 properties worldwide, including the well-known brands Hyatt Place and Park Hyatt.

On their website, select the “Veteran” tag from the dropdown on the search bar and hit “Find Hotels” to see the staycation hotel discounts for disabled veterans. Unfortunately, like other chains, they do not publish the percentage you will save, but there are discounts, nonetheless.

IHG

InterContinental, Candlewood Suites, Kimpton, and Holiday Inn all come under the IHG chain, meaning you can get veteran, retired military, and disabled veteran discounts at all of them!

Head to the IHG website and select “Government/Military Rate” under the “Rate Preference” menu on the search bar. You will get different rates depending on your status and type of travel.

You can get a 10% discount on stays for Kimpton-brand locations through VetRewards.

Motel 6 and Studio 6

Motel 6 is a budget hotel chain with more than 1,300 properties across the country. Studio 6, on the other hand, is a recent addition to their offerings, specializing in extended stays.

The downside is that they do not offer discounts to veterans specifically. So, you must sign up for VetRewards to access a 15% discount on Motel 6 vacations.

Red Roof Inn

Red Roof Inn, a chain of pet-friendly, affordable hotels in the USA, offers discounts to military members, veterans, their families, and even friends.

As a disabled veteran, you can get a 10% discount on your stay with them. Check the “Government/Military” box under the “Special Rate” tab on the Red Roof Inn’s website to see your savings.

On top of that, you can get a 20% discount on all stays by using VetRewards.

Wyndham

Wyndham is one of the more affordable hotel chains on this list. That said, they do have a decent selection of resort hotels.

You cannot get staycation hotel discounts for disabled veterans directly from the Wyndham website. Instead, you need to book through VetRewards. This way, you will receive 20% off your Wyndham hotel booking, including those advertised by Wyndham Extra Holidays.

Does Disney Offer Discounts for Disabled Veterans?

We mentioned earlier that Shades of Green is situated on Disney’s grounds. But, depending on your exact status, you might be able to get staycation hotel discounts for disabled veterans.

If you are a permanently disabled veteran, you are eligible for Disney’s Armed Forces Salute. You need a Retired ID card with the DAVPRM code printed to acquire the savings.
